First two days of spring break:

Recently I've been absolutely hooked on instagram and I sadly became one of those people who can't help but post at least one picture every day. Overtime, my photos began to have a theme, that is 'the highlight of my day.' Of course, sometimes I just have one of those days that are mundane and an exact replica of the previous, in which case, I do not post anything. Anyway, I decided to give myself a 10 day challenge during my spring break and post things which are the highlight of my day. It's kind of almost an instaglog or blogram of sorts (yes that's me trying to awkwardly mash instagram and blog into one sentence). So these are some whaddups of the first two days of my spring break. In instagram format.

Day 1 - A very healthy morning. Decided to gym early and then hit the pool afterwards. Jacuzzi time was awesome.

In the evening, I decided to go to a Korean restaurant with a friend. The dish above is toppoki. It's basically rice cake smothered in this slightly sweet and very spicy sauce. I've always wanted to try it because I watched it on some TV shows and they looked pretty neat. Suffice to say, I discovered that looks are definitely deceiving because eating those babies was torture for me. Did I mention I can't stand spicy food? It wasn't that bad, it was good at first but honestly, you can only tolerate so much toppoki at once.

My friend ordered this dish and I have to say, Korean barbecue is awesome despite many of their spicy dishes. This one is dulboggi which is basically slices of beef, vegetables and vermicelli grilled with some sort of oil/broth. This one has a very sweet taste for meat but it's definitely better than toppoki.

After dinner, I decided to take my friend to the port because she has never been there and I strangely felt like going there. So voila! Another snapshot of the Doha port at night.

Day 2- Today I spent most of the day in this place called Moza Center where the Indonesian community was holding a seminar for parents (and whoever's interested) on how to communicate effectively with your child. My mom decided that it's a good idea to drag me to this event because I'm nearly an adult and it'll be a good learning experience. It was an amusing experience and the speaker was absolutely lovely. However, the pool-side attracted me most and I feel that it's instagram worthy.

Some people might find it a bit pathetic that I need to take pictures of my daily life, but to me, instagram actually helped me take interest in what I would call an ordinary mundane day. Take the events above for example, they could be pretty mundane overall but I try to find interesting aspects of it and made it memorable through pictures. After all, it's not about finding extraordinary things. It's making ordinary things extraordinary.

That's it for today. I hope you guys enjoy the rest of your days. There will be more instagram documentation posts to follow, for sure!
